Tama Star Reserve TLM145S 14"x5" - Oiled Natural Maple
Product Description
The Tama Star Reserve TLM145S is a solid maple snare drum built for exceptionally responsive snare sensitivity. Its sharper Starclassic-style bearing edge and a brass Sound Arc hoop deliver a bright, brilliant top end, while the 8mm solid maple shell with sound focus ring adds warmth and body.
Construction
The shell is built from solid maple, 8mm thick, with an additional 8mm solid maple sound focus ring for extra projection and control. The bearing edge is the same profile used on the Starclassic series, giving a sharper response than a standard edge. The hoop is a 2.3mm brass Sound Arc hoop with 8 holes, fitted with STAR tube lugs and lug nuts.
Snare Mechanics and Sound
The drum features a concert version of the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire (MS20RL14C), fitted with a "Liner-Drive" strainer and butt (MLS50A / MLS50B). The combination of the brass hoop and snare wire gives a crisp, brilliant attack while the maple shell retains warmth in the tone.
Finish
The drum is finished in Oiled Natural Maple (OMP), highlighting the wood's natural grain.
