The Tama Star Reserve Hammered Aluminium (TAS1465H) is a 14x6.5" hand-hammered aluminum snare drum built for players who want extra power without losing the round character aluminum snares are known for. The 3 mm thick, hand-hammered shell delivers a faster attack and more punch than traditional aluminum snares, while the snare response and projection remain superb.
The brilliance in the tone gives strong projection even at lower tunings, and the stable Brass Sound Arch hoops keep the drum steady and consistent. The result is a snare drum with a distinct character that works just as well on stage as in the studio.
Construction
The shell is hand-hammered from 3 mm aluminum, giving it its distinctive blend of power and roundness. The hoops are Brass Sound Arch Hoops with 8 holes, and the lugs are the MSL90 model. The MLS50A/MLS50B strainer controls the MS20RL14C snare wires, a Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Steel set known for its crisp response. Holdt-Tight™ washers keep the tension rods secure during play.
