1.2mm steel snare with chrome finish, die-cast hoops and full-surface snare wires for a clean, bright vintage attack.
Product Description
The Tama Mastercraft Steel 50th Anniversary is a reissue of the classic 80s snare drum, built with a 1.2mm steel shell and die-cast hoops. It delivers a clean, bright attack with clear and crisp resonance, and full-surface snare wires add enhanced articulation. A great choice if you want authentic vintage look and tone with modern, reliable hardware.
Shell and Look
The 1.2mm steel shell is paired with the distinctive center groove design that gave the original Mastercraft series its unique look in the 1980s. The classic chrome finish reinforces the understated vintage character. Size is 14x6.5". The hoops are die-cast with 10 holes, contributing to a clean attack and stable tuning. Lugs are the Original Superstar Lug (6371N).
Snare Mechanism
The drum features a Roller Action strainer (6302N/6303N/6338N) with a single on/off lever and dual guide rollers for smooth, consistent operation. The 20-strand carbon steel Long Snare Wires (6035N) run the full width of the head for enhanced articulation. An internal One-Touch Tone Control muffler (6552N) allows quick, precise adjustment of overtone and dampening with a single switch.
Heads
The batter side is fitted with a REMO® Ambassador Coated head in Tama's 50th Anniversary version, and the bottom side with a REMO Ambassador Snare Side head.
Who It's For
A great fit for drummers who love the sound of the 80s and want a snare drum with vintage character built on dependable, modern hardware.
