Construction

The rack tom and floor tom (TT/FT) feature a 6 mm shell built from 4 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of Black Walnut. The bass drum (BD/Snare-type construction) has an 8 mm shell of 5 plies of birch with 2 inner plies of American Black Walnut. The lugs are Tama's Starclassic Lugs, and the hoops are die-cast for a focused sound.

Mounting and hardware

Star-Cast Mounting provides a slim tom suspension system that isolates the shell from mounting mass for better sound and easier positioning. The floor tom uses the Quick-Lock Tom Leg Bracket, a quick-release system that doubles as a memory lock. The floor tom legs have cushioned rubber feet with an air pocket that help the toms retain their resonance against the floor.
