Tama S.L.P. Mod Bubinga Clay Aeschliman Signature 12"x7" - Galactic Purple

Product Description

The Tama S.L.P. Mod Bubinga is a 12" x 7" snare drum built in solid bubinga, created together with Clay Aeschliman (Polyphia) as a signature model in the exclusive Galactic Purple finish. It delivers a warm, powerful low-mid presence with a pronounced, cutting attack, and works equally well on stage and in the studio.

Artist-inspired design

Created in collaboration with Polyphia's Clay Aeschliman, this signature model features an exclusive Galactic Purple finish that reflects both artistic flair and sonic intent.

Wood shell dynamics

Crafted from 9-ply, 6 mm bubinga, the shell delivers a warm, powerful low-mid presence with a pronounced, cutting attack. The 12" diameter with a 7" depth provides unexpectedly deep resonance for a compact snare.

Hardware and construction

Steel Sound Arc hoops (2.3 mm, 6-hole; batter side: 2.3 mm, snare side: 1.6 mm) focus the overtones and give stable tuning, while MSL-SCT lugs keep tension even and rattle-free. The strainer/butt is MLS30A / MLS30B. The 20-strand Starclassic carbon-steel snare wires offer both sensitivity and snap. Ideal for intricate patterns or emphatic backbeats.

Ready to perform

Pre-fitted with an Evans Genera HD Dry batter head. A durable, double-ply head with built-in muffling. This snare delivers a tight, controlled tone that bolsters the natural warmth of the bubinga shell. The snare side carries its own Evans head.
