TAMA Metalworks is a snare drum series built with a thicker, more stable shell than what you'd typically find in this price range. The 1.2 mm steel shell delivers a focused tone with good sound potential, finished in a clean matte black look. The thicker shell gives the drum a more consistent feel overall - both in tone and in how it's built. You'll notice it most in how evenly the drum responds no matter how hard you hit it.
Construction
The shell is made from 1.2 mm steel with a Matte Black finish. The hoops are 1.6 mm Triple Flanged Hoops, 8-hole, also in Matte Black finish, giving the drum a uniform, matte look throughout. The strainer/throw-off system is the MUS65A/MUS60B.
