The TAMA Metalworks BST1055MBK is a 10x5.5" side snare drum with a 1.2 mm steel shell and Matte Black finish. It's built slightly thicker and more stable than standard snares in its price range, and ships with a tom bracket for mounting on a holder or stand.
The Metalworks series from Tama is known for delivering good sound potential despite its compact format. The 1.2 mm shell thickness adds stability and gives a focused, direct attack. The hoops are 1.6 mm triple flanged hoops with 6 holes, also finished in Matte Black, giving the drum a cohesive look.
The snare strainer is the MUS65A/MUS60B, a reliable mechanism that gives good control over the snare wire response.
