Tama Mastercraft Rosewood 50th Anniversary 14"x5"
Product Description
The Mastercraft Rosewood 50th Anniversary is Tama's anniversary reissue of the snare drum that in the 1980s became the first of its kind built entirely from rosewood. The 14x5" shell delivers a clean sound with a dark tone still sought after by drummers looking for something new.
Rosewood is a hard, dense material usually used for guitar fretboards. In the 1980s, it was only found on drums as a single outer-ply veneer, and Tama's Mastercraft Rosewood Snare Drum was the first and only drum of its kind at the time. Full rosewood drums are extremely difficult to produce, but their clean sound and dark tone quickly made them popular among drummers seeking a new sound. Not long after the original release, the Tama brand became synonymous with rosewood.
This 50th Anniversary Limited Edition model faithfully recreates the sound of the past. Familiar to those who were there from the beginning, and an exciting new discovery for those who weren't.
