The Tama Iron Cobra Rolling Glide Single (HP900RN) is the single-pedal version of the Iron Cobra line, often called the world's best-selling bass drum pedal. In 2016 the pedal was updated in six areas for faster action, better sound and increased stability. This is the Rolling Glide version, with the axle centered, and it comes with a sturdy hardcase.

• Power-Strike Cobra Beater – a hammer-style beater with thicker felt and a smaller diameter for a cleaner attack
• Swivel Spring Tight – a swiveling lower spring seat that keeps the spring aligned with the upper seat for a faster, smoother motion
• Hinge Guard Block – two new blocks increase stability and protect the footboard's ball bearings
• Superstabilizer Design – a wider frame and base plate for increased stability
• Para-Clamp II Pro – a three-point clamp with protective rubber and generous adjustability that grips the bass drum hoop without damaging it or affecting the base plate's contact with the floor
• Lite Sprocket – a new sprocket, 40% lighter, for faster movement

Carried Over From Previous Models

Beyond the 2016 updates, the pedal keeps the features that made Iron Cobra popular: Cobra Coil, a patented and adjustable spring under the footboard that reinforces the pedal's rebound, and the Oiles Bearing Hinge – patented, oil-sealed bearings for smooth movement. The Speedo-Ring is the rotating upper spring seat that gives the spring a natural motion. The pedal ships in a sturdy hardshell case for safe transport.

Rolling Glide or Power Glide?

The 2016 Iron Cobra comes in two versions. Rolling Glide, like this pedal, has the axle centered. Power Glide instead places the axle off-center, giving the beater an accelerating motion. The difference is about feel rather than quality – choose whichever suits your foot best.
