Tama 5B - Suede Grip

The Tama 5B-SG is made from Japanese oak (Ka-Shi Oak) and finished with a special Suede Grip coating – a non-slip, slightly flexible paint that gives you a secure hold and reduces the risk of dropping the stick while playing. The oval tip is balanced toward the tip end for quick sound and response, and the size, weight and balance are tuned for all-round use.

The coating keeps the stick feeling secure in your hand even through long, intense sets, without ever feeling sticky or heavy. The oval tip shape gives a distinct attack on both snare and cymbals, while still responding quickly during light, technical passages.

A good choice if you want a reliable all-round stick with extra grip security – for example if you play sweaty, tempo-shifting sets, or simply want less chance of the stick slipping out of your hand mid-fill.
