A mallet topper from Dragonfly Percussion that slips securely onto the tip of any medium drum set stick, turning it into a mallet. Built on a traditional Austrian timpani mallet design of tightly stacked cloth layers, it sounds and feels far superior to a felt-covered timpani stick, while being significantly more durable.

The topper is the result of a collaboration between drummer and craftsman Scott McPherson (Tackle Instrument Supply Co.), whose rock credentials include Elliott Smith, Beck and Bright Eyes, and orchestral percussionist and mallet-maker Dinesh Joseph (Dragonfly Percussion), known for his work with the Buffalo Philharmonic. Together they created an entirely new kind of drum set accessory.

Three Thicknesses, Three Voices

Toppers are available in three thicknesses: hard leather, medium canvas and soft flannel. This version is the medium canvas option, sitting between the harder and softer alternatives in tone and attack. Each thickness brings a brand new palette of timbres to your drums and cymbals.

Fits Medium Sticks

The topper fits securely onto the tip of a medium drum set stick, roughly in the 5A/7A range. No gluing or permanent mounting required.
