Product Description
The SV1R is a pair of soft vibraphone mallets from ProMark's SPYR series, featuring a rattan handle and an oversized, yarn-wrapped mallet head made of synthetic rubber. The mallets produce a very full sound with minimal articulation, thanks to the soft, oversized head.
SPYR is a collaboration between ProMark and world-renowned percussionists, designers and educators Kevin Shah and Tony Nunez. Designed with educators in mind, the series covers the complete spectrum of sounds required on keyboard instruments across the variety of ensembles and performances educators lead, removing the need for multiple mallet lines.
Construction
The handle is made of rattan, and the head is wrapped in yarn over a soft synthetic rubber core. The finish is natural. Hardness is rated 2, meaning a soft mallet suited to a full, round sound rather than sharp attack.
