Product Description
The Meinl Traditional Surdo SU16 is the heart and bass drum of the samba orchestra. The shell is built in aluminum with sturdy hoops, making the drum light to carry yet stable to play.
The drum features two different heads. A plastic head on one side and a NAPA Head on the other. Giving you two distinct sounds from the same drum. Eight lugs (Lug-37) keep the tension even all around, and the hardware is chrome-plated for a durable, good-looking finish.
Construction
The shell is made of aluminum, 16" in diameter (approx. 40 cm) and 20" in height (approx. 51 cm). The sturdy hoops give the drum stability without adding unnecessary weight when carried on a strap during play.
Heads and sound
The surdo comes with two head options: HEAD-59 in plastic and HEAD-66 in NAPA Head. The two head types give different tonal characters, letting you choose the sound that fits your music best.
A matching bag, the MSUB-16, is available for this drum but is not included in delivery.
