Meinl Percussion Subwoofer - White Ash
Product Description
The Meinl Subwoofer Cajon is built to deliver real low-end depth without losing the top end. A forward-facing bass reflex port aims the low frequencies straight out toward the listener, while an internal snare mat against the White Ash front plate keeps the top register crisp and clear.
This is Meinl's first Subwoofer Cajon and it's somewhat smaller than its bigger sibling, the SUBCAJ5WN, but shares the same idea: a bass port that projects the low end forward instead of just letting it bounce off the bottom panel. The result is a cajon that's felt as well as heard, with a depth that works well whenever you want the kick-drum-like low end to carry.
Construction
The front plate (tapa) is made of White Ash, giving a firm yet responsive playing surface. The sides and body are made of eco-friendly fiberboard, a durable and more sustainable material choice that still keeps the shell stable. The internal snare mat, mounted against the front plate, adds the classic snare buzz that makes the cajon's top end distinct and easy to hear in a mix.
Dimensions
The cajon measures approximately 50 cm in height, 30 cm in width and 31 cm in depth. A compact but sturdy shape to sit on.
