Strata Cons 40''
Synthetic orchestral timpani head, 40", with a calfskin-like touch. Available in 0.25/0.35 mm, with or without Power Center for focused, full tone.
Product Description
The Evans Strata Cons is a synthetic orchestral timpani head in 40" with a surface designed to give the touch of real calfskin. It produces an open, full tone and is available in two thicknesses, as well as with or without a center reinforcement, so you can pick the character that suits your drum and setting.
Tone and attack
The overall tone is open and full, with the warmth associated with the calfskin-like feel. The head comes in two thicknesses, 0.25 mm and 0.35 mm: the thicker head gives a clearer attack, while the thinner head plays with more dynamic sensitivity.
Power Center
As an option, the head is available with Power Center, a reinforcement at the center of the head. It focuses the tone and boosts the low end, giving a more concentrated and powerful sound.
Who It's For
A good choice for timpani players who want a synthetic head with tone and feel close to real calfskin, combined with better tuning stability and everyday durability.
