Strata Cons 36''
Concert head (Strata Cons) from Evans, 36". Open, full tone in 0.25/0.35 mm, with optional Power Center for a focused low end.
Product Description
The Strata Cons 36" is a synthetic concert drumhead from Evans with a calfskin-like touch, made for large concert timpani. It delivers an open, full tone and is available in two thicknesses as well as with or without the Power Center reinforcement.
The head is made in two thicknesses: 0.25mm and 0.35mm. The thicker option gives a clearer attack, while the thinner head responds more dynamically to the stroke. If you want a more focused tone with reinforced low end, the head is also available with Power Center, a center reinforcement that concentrates the tone and brings out the bass frequencies.
Tone and feel
The base tone is open and full regardless of thickness. With Power Center, the tone becomes more concentrated and the low end more pronounced, which can be useful when the head needs to cut through in a larger ensemble.
Who It's For
A good choice for concert timpani players who want the option of a more dynamic response (0.25mm), a clearer attack (0.35mm), or a focused, bass-heavy tone (Power Center).
