Product Description
The Evans Strata Cons is a synthetic orchestral timpani head in 36", with a surface that gives a feel close to genuine calfskin. It's a great choice for timpani players who want an open, full tone with the durability of a synthetic head.
The head is available in two thicknesses, 0.25 mm and 0.35 mm, and with or without Power Center (a reinforcement at the centre of the head). Without Power Center you get an open, full base tone. With Power Center the tone is focused and the low end is reinforced, giving a clearer, more concentrated sound.
Thickness also affects feel: the thicker 0.35 mm head gives a clear, direct attack, while the thinner 0.25 mm head is a bit more dynamic and responsive to subtle changes in touch.
