The Evans Strata Cons is a synthetic orchestral timpani head in 32" with a surface that feels like real calfskin. It delivers an open, full tone and suits players who want the warmth of natural skin without the moisture sensitivity.
The head is available in two thicknesses. The thinner 0.25 mm version gives a more dynamic response and feels lighter under the mallet, while the thicker 0.35 mm version provides a clearer attack and holds up better to harder playing.
You can also choose whether the head has a Power Center or not. A reinforced center patch. With Power Center, the tone is focused and the low end is emphasized, giving a more defined pitch with a clearer core. Without it, the tone stays more open and spreads naturally across the whole head.
