Construction

The rack and floor toms have a 6 mm shell built from 4 plies of birch plus 2 inner plies of black walnut. The bass drum and snare have a thicker 8 mm shell with 5 plies of birch plus 2 inner plies of American black walnut. This combination gives Starclassic Walnut/Birch its clear, defined tone.

Hardware

The kit uses Star-Cast mounting, a slimmed-down tom suspension system that frees up shell resonance and makes positioning easy. The Quick-Lock fittings let you attach toms and legs quickly while also acting as a memory lock. The hoops are die-cast for focused sound and easy tuning, and the bass drum has die-cast claw hooks with protective rubber spacers. The floor toms sit on cushioned legs with an air pocket so resonance isn't lost against the floor.

Heads

The toms come fitted with EVANS G2 Clear batter heads, and the bass drum with an EVANS EQ4 batter head.
