Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch shell pack, Piano Black, with walnut/birch shells for a big fundamental tone. Star-Cast mounting, Die-Cast hoops.
Product Description
The Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch is a hybrid shell pack that blends walnut and birch to deliver a big fundamental tone with a stable low end. The set tunes easily whether you prefer high-tuned single-ply heads or fat, low-tuned double-ply heads, finished in lacquered Piano Black.
The shell pack includes three shells: a 22"x16" bass drum, a 12"x8" mounted tom and a 16"x16" floor tom, plus an MC69 Single Tom Attachment for mounting the tom. The shells are built for clear tone and easy tuning: the mounted tom and floor tom have a 6 mm shell with 4 plies of birch and 2 inner plies of Black Walnut, while the bass drum has an 8 mm shell with 5 plies of birch and 2 inner plies of American Black Walnut.
Construction and hardware
- Starclassic Lugs and Die-Cast Hoops for focused sound and easy tuning
- Star-Cast Mounting with Quick-Lock Tom holders. A slim tom suspension system for great sound, positioning and handling, doubling as a memory lock
- Quick-Lock leg attachment with quick release on the floor tom
- Claw Hooks with rubber spacers on the bass drum for secure grip and protection
- Cushioned floor tom legs with an air pocket so the floor tom keeps its resonance
Heads
The kit ships with EVANS heads: G2 Clear batter heads on the toms and an EQ4 batter head on the bass drum.
Who it's for
A great choice if you want a unique yet genuinely versatile kit, with a tone character that works equally well tuned high and bright or low and fat.
