Product Description

The Snareweight M100 is a magnetic snare dampener that shortens sustain without killing the drum's tone. The body weighs 3.5 ounces (100 grams) and is made from chrome, combined with felt, leather, and a built-in magnet. The result is a tighter, punchier snare sound that still keeps some of the shell's natural openness.

The M100 shares its footprint with the M1 but adds just the right amount of weight to create a new level of dampening, sitting roughly between the M1b and the Brass #5 model. Compared to the M1 it sounds different: because the weight sits away from the rim, the drum keeps some of the shell's ring while gaining a bit of crisp clarity and compression. It also shortens the low-frequency hum in a way similar to the Brass #5, tightening up the drum. A fully open M80 gives the most dampening of the range, but with less shell openness.

How it shapes the sound

The M100 is built to shorten sustain while keeping the good ring intact - it won't dampen all the ring from your snare, but it tightens things up and adds punch while the shell stays open around the rim.

Mounting and compatibility

The magnetic on/off feature lets you engage or remove the dampener in a snap, whether you're tuning up or playing a song that doesn't need dampening. The chrome finish matches most hardware and sits neatly out of the way along the rim.

The M100 works with virtually any drum size, including 8", 9", 10", 12", 13", 14", 16" and 18". It's compatible with triple flange hoops, die-cast hoops, angel hoops, true hoops, and 1/4" wood hoops.
