The Snareweight V1 is a snare dampener made from durable vegan leather that sits a bit in from the rim, without direct contact with the hoop. That gives noticeable dampening while still letting the drum's resonance breathe. A chrome body, soft felt underside, and a magnetic on/off feature make it quick to move between drums or disengage mid-set.

Sound Character

At 100 grams (3.5 oz), the V1 lands at roughly the same dampening level as Snareweight's own M1 model, but sounds different in practice. Because it sits out and away from the rim, the drum keeps more of the shell's ring while gaining a bit of crisp clarity and compression in the attack. It also shortens the lower, humming frequencies a bit like the shop's Brass #5 model, tightening up the drum. A fully open M80 dampens more overall but takes away more of the shell's openness. The V1 is built to shorten sustain while keeping the good ring – it won't remove all the ring from your snare, but it tightens it up and adds punch while keeping the shell open around the rim.

Compatibility

The V1 works on virtually any drum size – 8", 9", 10", 12", 13", 14", 16", 18" and more – and fits triple flange hoops, die-cast hoops, angle hoops, true hoops, and 1/4" wood hoops.
