ProMark SM6 SPYR Marimba Mallet - Natural
Marimba mallet in ProMark's SPYR series with birch handle and yarn head, giving a clear tone in the marimba's upper octaves. Hardness 7, Very Hard.
Product Description
The SM6 is a marimba mallet from ProMark's SPYR series, built with a birch handle and a yarn head. It delivers a clear, well-defined tone and really shines when played across the top octave and a half of the marimba, producing a clear note that stands out in the mix.
Sound and Feel
The SM6 is described as the most articulate marimba mallet in ProMark's lineup. It's built for clarity rather than fullness, making it especially suited to passages in the marimba's upper register where a distinct attack matters.
Construction
The handle is made of birch and the head is wrapped in yarn. The finish is natural. The mallet is rated Very Hard, with a hardness of 7 on the manufacturer's scale.
The SPYR Series
SPYR is a collaboration between ProMark and world-renowned percussionists, designers and educators Kevin Shah and Tony Nunez. Designed with the educator in mind, the series covers the complete spectrum of sounds required on keyboard instruments across a variety of ensembles and performances. Removing the need for multiple mallet lines to outfit different ensembles.
