Shure Beta 52A
Product Description
The Shure Beta 52A is a dynamic microphone purpose-built for kick drum, bass amps and acoustic bass. Its supercardioid pattern and tailored low-frequency response capture the weight of the bottom end without picking up too much of the surrounding stage, and it takes very high sound pressure levels without breaking up.
- Frequency response tailored specifically for kick drums and bass instruments
- Built-in adjustable stand adapter with integrated XLR connector for easy setup, even inside a kick drum
- Studio-quality performance even at extremely high sound pressure levels
- Supercardioid pattern for high gain-before-feedback and superior rejection of unwanted noise
- Hardened steel mesh grille that resists wear and rough handling
- Advanced pneumatic shock-mount that minimizes mechanical noise and vibration transfer
- Neodymium magnet for a high signal-to-noise ratio
What is the Beta 52A best suited for?
It's built for the working musician or engineer who needs to mic a kick drum, bass amp or acoustic bass, with the quality and durability to handle both stage and studio use.
Key characteristics
The supercardioid pickup pattern limits interference from other sound sources on stage and reduces feedback risk. The frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 10 kHz, with a slight boost around 4 kHz that helps electric bass and kick drum cut through the mix rather than get buried in it.
The Beta 52A is also available as part of the DMK57-52 Drum Mic Kit, which includes three SM57 microphones, one Beta 52A, three A56D drum mounts and a carrying case.
