Product Description
sE Electronics GuitaRF® is a reflection filter that doubles as an isolator, a double microphone stand and fine-tuning hardware for two microphones. It is built to combine two microphone types in front of the same source.
Function
GuitaRF® holds a large-diaphragm condenser or ribbon microphone together with a dynamic or small-capsule microphone. This makes it possible to phase-align the two capsules with each other for maximum effect.
Construction
The filter is built in four layers: a ventilated outer composite panel, a layer of acoustic wool, an air gap for low-frequency isolation and an inner layer of acoustic foam. A pass-through hole with a rubber-finned grip holds almost any dynamic or small-capsule microphone.
Sound
Acoustically, GuitaRF® is very close to the RF-X. Placed in front of an amp cabinet, it reduces stage leakage into the guitar microphones, which makes multitrack recordings from live performances considerably easier to mix when the filter is used on guitar cabinets or drums.
Use
GuitaRF® suits electric guitar cabinets, acoustic guitars, bass guitar cabinets and keyboard amplifiers. It also works outside a bass drum, for isolating hi-hat and snare, and for double-miking vocals.
