The sE Electronics DynaCaster is a dynamic microphone with a built-in preamp that gives you up to +30 dB of extra gain straight out of the mic. It's equally at home hosting a podcast or livestream as it is on vocals and voiceover in the studio, and it comes with an integrated pop filter and shock mount so you skip two extra purchases.

Turbo-charged output

Many dynamic microphones need an outboard preamp to reach a usable level. The DynaCaster solves that internally: flip a switch and apply 48V phantom power, and the built-in DYNAMITE preamp instantly provides up to +30 dB of clean, transparent gain. No need for a separate, bulky inline preamp – the mic delivers the level on its own.

Capsule and sound character

The DMC8 capsule is a front-addressed cardioid dynamic capsule with an aluminum voice coil, based on the technology in sE's acclaimed V SERIES. It captures a natural, intimate sound on both vocals and speech, isolates your voice from unwanted ambient noise, and delivers a lush low end with a transparent, airy top end. Two recessed EQ switches offer six different equalization configurations, letting you make the voice fuller and richer, tame boominess, or reduce sibilance. The switches sit recessed so settings aren't knocked out of place mid-session.

Built-in pop filter and shock mount

The DynaCaster features an integrated three-layer pop filter that protects against plosives immediately, with no need for an external pop filter or bulky shock-mount cluttering the shot. The filter disassembles quickly for cleaning, with no parts that need soaking. The patented integrated shock mount mechanically decouples the capsule, reducing handling noise, footfall noise and low-frequency rumble.

Build and connectivity

The housing is all-metal with a premium, corrosion-resistant finish that's heavily shielded against electrical interference for years of demanding use. The integrated side-by-side stand mount and gold-plated XLR connector have been tested across a wide range of microphone stands and desk booms, with a high swivel range for easy positioning.
