Product Description
This Udu drum (U62) is formed after the traditional construction methods of the east Nigerian Ibo tribe, and is very much a bass tonal range Udu. It's handmade in clay in Germany and comes with a stand ring for stable placement.
The rounded clay body is what gives the Udu its distinctive deep, bass-heavy tone, quite different from wood or skin-headed hand drums. The sound is round, deep and slightly haunting, with an emphasis on low register rather than sharp attack.
Construction and material
The body is shaped in clay following traditional craftsmanship and handmade in Germany, making each piece unique in detail. Dimensions are approx. 40 cm in height and Ø31 cm in diameter. The included stand ring keeps the drum steady when set down.
