Schlagwerk Rim Shaker

The Schlagwerk Rim Shaker is a flexible shaker attachment that mounts via Velcro to the side of a cajon or any drum with a 90° angle between body and playing surface. It puts an extra shaker sound right at your fingertips, without forcing you to change grip mid-groove.

The construction combines a flexible TPE carrier with a square synthetic shaker tube that hinges in the carrier. Attached to the side of a cajon, the shaker aligns parallel to the playing face, ready to be woven into any rhythm pattern you play without changing your hand movement to grab a separate shaker.

The end of the shaker tube is wrapped with a small fleece tape. This lets you strike the playing surface through the tube to produce a stroking sound similar to a fingertip strike, adding yet another sound option to the Rim Shaker. A rubber ring that can be moved along the shaker tube lets you adjust the attack of that stroking sound.

The Rim Shaker works just as well on drums and other percussion instruments with the same 90° angle between body and playing surface, and can even be mounted on a guitar for players who want to experiment with extra sounds.
