Schlagwerk Def 16"
16" frame drum with goatskin head from Schlagwerk. Light beech frame for long sustain and easy handling.
Product Description
The Schlagwerk Def is a 16" frame drum with a goatskin head and a glued beechwood frame. Its lightweight build makes it easy to hold and play for longer sessions, while giving a longer sustain than heavier frame drums.
Schlagwerk has extended its range of frame drums with the addition of the Def. The frame is built from 6 plies of glued beechwood and is 82 mm in height, which reduces the overall weight compared to other frame drums of similar size. The lower weight brings better handling whether you play standing or moving around with the drum, and the lighter build contributes to a longer sustain in the sound.
Construction and materials
The head is made from goatskin, a natural material that gives a warm, direct tone with good sensitivity to touch. The beechwood frame is glued in 6 plies for stability without adding weight. The drum ships with a tuning key so the head tension can be adjusted.
