Schlagwerk DynaCrasher Mountable 280x60x50 mm

Product Description

The DynaCrasher Mountable is a crasher from Schlagwerk built around a different idea: a snare carpet mounted on a solid wood carrier instead of the usual metal sheets. The result is an effect instrument that produces rich snare sound at low volume and powerful, cutting crash sounds when played with sticks.

Most crashers on the market use several differently shaped metal sheets, giving hard, short sounds that can feel too aggressive for a musical percussion context. The DynaCrasher takes a different route with a snare carpet on a solid wood carrier: the playing surface is made from densified wood that withstands hard playing without damage (no tool in a drummer's arsenal has been able to harm the surface), while the design offers a wide dynamic range. From quiet snare/sizzle sounds when played by hand to penetrating crash sounds at higher volumes, such as in a drum set groove arrangement.

Two adjustment screws control how long the buzz/crash sound sustains, letting you fine-tune the character to the music. It can be played with hand, sticks, rods or brushes.

This mountable version (DC280M) attaches via a woodblock mount and fits any standard percussion rod with a 9-10 mm diameter. A stand-alone percussion version (DC280) is also available, attached with Velcro to a surface.
