Product Description
The Schlagwerk Log Drum 6 Tones F-Pentatonic is a melodic slit drum built around an F-pentatonic scale. The padouk playing surface gives a soft, full sound suited to harmonious patterns played in varying beat sequences.
The body rests on a resonance box made of solid alder (Alnus), which contributes to the drum's full, rounded tone. The playing surface itself is padouk (Pterocarpus soyauxli), a dense tropical wood that gives a soft yet clear attack.
The drum is tuned pentatonically across six tones: c', d', f', g', a' and c''. Because a pentatonic scale always sounds harmonious regardless of the order notes are played in, the drum is easy to play intuitively, even without a background in music theory.
Dimensions are approx. 45 x 15 x 15 cm. Schlagwerk recommends the MA102 and MA103 mallets for the best sound result.
