Tone and Feel

The Artisan Suspended is characteristically dark, offering an extremely wide range of low, mid and high partials. Despite the dark tone, it stays articulate and can be played at relatively loud volume while remaining sensitive at soft dynamic levels. It performs equally well in quiet and powerful musical settings.

Suspended vs. Crash

The main difference between a suspended cymbal and a crash cymbal is the longer sustain of the suspended cymbal. Because of this, 15" through 18" suspended cymbals are an economical choice, since they have the versatility to also be used as crash cymbals. Making the 18" a flexible workhorse for orchestral and ensemble use.

Who It's For

The Artisan Suspended 18" is highly sought after by professional and collegiate ensembles, as well as discriminating high schools, looking for a dark, rich tone with quick response. Whether played suspended or as a crash.
