Product Description

The Roland VAD507 is a complete five-piece electronic drum kit with the commanding presence of a full acoustic set, combined with the control and flexibility of digital drums. Full-depth, full-diameter wood shells are covered in an attractive wrap and mounted on double-braced chrome stands, while Roland's digital sensor technology and TD-27 module capture every ghost note and roll in fine detail. Cymbal stands with tom holders are included, but the kick pedal, hi-hat stand and snare stand are not.

An acoustic feel, digitally delivered

Building on the previous VAD506, the VAD507 adds a digital hi-hat for greater expression plus the heavy-duty cymbal stands inherited from the flagship VAD706. The 14-inch PD-140DS snare and the toms (10-inch PDA100-MS, 12-inch PDA120-MS and 14-inch PDA140F-MS floor tom) use full-depth wood shells for genuine acoustic resistance under the sticks. The 20-inch KD-200-MS kick physically moves air inside the shell when struck, creating pressure that feels remarkably like an acoustic bass drum. The drums and kick feature custom chrome hardware with Midnight Sparkle wraps.

Digital snare, ride and hi-hat

Precision multi-sensors in the snare, the 18-inch CY-18DR ride and the hi-hat work together with the TD-27 module to capture every nuance with accurate positional detection. You can mute the ride with a finger touch or move seamlessly between head, rimshot and cross-stick playing on the snare. The cymbal set is rounded out by the 14-inch CY-14C-T crash and the 16-inch CY-16R-T crash/ride.

TD-27 module: sound and processing

Derived from the flagship TD-50X, the TD-27 module uses Roland's Prismatic Sound Modeling to give sampled drums and cymbals authentic acoustic behavior. It ships with 75 preset kits, including ten all-new kits, PureAcoustic Ambience Technology for natural room sound, and onboard effects such as parametric EQ, compression, reverb and delay. Custom WAV samples can be imported via SD card, and Roland Cloud support adds further sounds and kits.

Connectivity, expansion and practice

The module offers a stereo mix output plus two assignable outputs for independent mixing, a built-in 28-channel USB audio interface for computer production, and MIDI over USB and dedicated I/O. Three auxiliary trigger inputs (four inputs in total: AUX1–AUX3 and CRASH2) make it easy to expand the kit with extra toms, cymbals or a double-kick setup. Built-in Bluetooth® lets you stream audio from a phone or laptop to play along with music, while onboard Coach mode and the free Melodics for V-Drums app help you develop your playing.

What's included

The kit ships with the TD-27 module, all drums and cymbals, and the full stand set including cymbal stands and tom holders (DCS-30 x2, DBS-30, and APC-10 clamp). The kick pedal, hi-hat stand and snare stand are not included.
