Product Description

The TD-513 is the entry point into Roland’s V-Drums 5 Series, running the same sound engine as the V71 in the more compact V51 module. It is built for home practice, studio recording and smaller stages. At the centre sits a 12" snare pad with triple piezo sensors and positional sensing, with toms and cymbals that respond to how hard and where you play.

The V51 carries a multi-sampled sound library created together with Drum Workshop. The module has a large color display, a built-in wireless adaptor and editing tools for tuning, muffling and head type, plus studio-grade processing with EQ, compression, reverb and ambience.

Pads and Cymbals

The PD-12P snare pad is new, with triple piezo sensors and positional sensing, so the difference between centre and edge comes through. The PD-8H and PD-10H tom pads have been redesigned with offset sensors for more natural dynamics and reduced hot spot. The KD-10 kick pad has a genuine acoustic feel and keeps in-room volume down. The CY-12C-T and CY-14R-T cymbals trigger on both bow and edge and support choking, and the CY-16R-T ride adds bell triggering.

Connectivity and Workflow

USB-C carries multi-channel audio and MIDI over one cable, so you can track every drum separately in your DAW or drive software instruments from the kit. Bluetooth audio streams backing tracks from a phone, and recording and playback run via SD media. The module has three digital pad inputs and four analog trigger inputs, a mono or stereo main output, two direct outputs and an analog mix input.

Practice and Expansion

An integrated coach mode with Phrase Trainer and Stroke Monitor tracks both phrasing and accuracy. The kit includes Drum Pass, a bundle of 100 Melodics lessons for V-Drums players, and a six-month Roland Cloud Ultimate membership that also brings the DW Soundworks software instrument. New sounds and kits download wirelessly through the Roland Cloud Connect app, and your own samples can be imported.

What Is Included

The kit ships with the V51 module, PD-12P, two PD-8H, one PD-10H, KD-10, VH-10, CY-12C-T, CY-14R-T, CY-16R-T and the MDS-Standard 3 stand. The VH-10 mounts on a traditional hi-hat stand, which is not included. Kick pedal and drum throne are sold separately.
