The Roland TD-07DMK2 is the most affordable kit in the TD-07 series. It's a five-piece electronic drum kit with compact pads, a freestanding kick pad and the same TD-07 module as the TD-07KV2. An extra cymbal arm is included, so you can add a second crash later. A kick pedal and drum throne are sold separately.
Compact, with room to grow
With its smaller pads, the kit works well where space is tight. The 10-inch PD-10H snare pad handles both rimshots and cross-stick, and the snare and tom pads are the same ones used in Roland's V-Drums 3 Series, for better response and playability. Three 8-inch toms give you a layout that mirrors an acoustic kit.
The hi-hat pedal detects half-open strokes, and the crash and ride cymbals, both 10-inch CY-5 pads, swing naturally when you hit them. The included cymbal arm lets you add a second crash, either a CY-5 or a CY-8. The KD-10 kick pad works with both single and double pedals.
Quicker setup
The four-post metal rack has sturdy clamps with a strong grip. It ships partly pre-assembled in two sections joined by a single tube, so setup is quicker than on earlier models, with less packaging as well.
Practice tools
The coach function has six modes with game-style exercises that build timing and track your progress, including the new Blast Beast for speed and endurance. The metronome lets you set time signature, note value and click sound. Over Bluetooth you can stream music from a phone or tablet and play along, or send MIDI to music apps, and USB lets you record audio and MIDI into music software on your computer. The kit also includes Drum Pass, 100 free Melodics lessons curated for V-Drums players.
The module holds 50 kits, over 20 of them preset, and you can shape the sounds with EQ on each pad, room ambience and 30 multi-effects.
