Product Description

The Roland SPD::ONE Kick is a compact percussion pad that gives you genuine kick drum sounds and other percussion from a single unit. It works just as well for a drummer topping up an acoustic set as for a guitarist, singer or DJ who wants to add a foot- or hand-played pulse live.

The pad comes loaded with 22 realistic sounds – bass drums, stomp boxes, maracas, cowbells and more – spread across 12 sound banks. You can also import your own sound (up to 5 seconds, WAV 44.1 kHz/16-bit, mono or stereo) and record it into any bank. The surface is rugged yet sensitive, and works well with sticks, hands or foot.

Simple to control

The control panel is kept deliberately simple: a knob for sound selection (INST), plus TUNING, FX and VOLUME knobs, an INST VARIATION button, and THRES and SENS knobs for setting trigger sensitivity. Built-in effects are reverb and distortion, and a TRIG indicator shows when the pad is triggered.

Flexible placement

The SPD::ONE Kick can sit on the floor or a desk, or be mounted on a drum kit or stand using the included attachment (mount, 2 attachment screws, plus holder mounting screws – bolt, nut and 2 washers). The mount fits rods with a diameter of 8.0–12.7 mm (3/8–1/2"). It runs on four AA batteries (rechargeable NiMH or alkaline – alkaline batteries included) or an AC adapter (sold separately).

Connections

Sound is sent out via a mono OUTPUT jack, and there's also a stereo headphone jack. USB (Micro-B) works as both a MIDI connection and mass storage for handling your own sounds, and a DC IN jack accepts the AC adapter.
