The Rogers PowerTone 14x6.5 is a wood shell snare drum built for a wide-open, woody tone and fast dynamic response. Its shell uses Rogers' 5-ply maple-poplar design with 2-ply reinforcement rings, giving the drum a broad, warm character that suits most musical situations. This model comes in the classic Satin Natural finish.

Construction

The 5-ply maple-poplar shell with 2-ply reinforcement rings is central to PowerTone's open, woody voice. The hoops are 2.3mm triple-flanged with 8 lugs, and the drum uses 10 die-cast Beavertail lugs. One of the PowerTone line's signature details since its introduction. The throw-off is a Clock Face design, and the drum carries the PowerTone badge.

Heads and response

The drum ships with Remo USA heads: a batter head and a UT snare-side head. Together with the shell and hoops, this combination gives the PowerTone a clear attack and a dynamic range from a whisper to a scream without losing character.
