The ProMark Rock 747 Nylon is an American hickory stick with the classic 5A diameter, but longer and with a thicker taper for extra weight and control. The nylon tip gives a brighter, more articulate attack that cuts through the mix. A good choice if you like the 5A feel but want a bit more heft in your hand.
Made from American hickory, the stick goes through ProMark's proprietary Millennium II process, which the manufacturer says strengthens the wood and improves resonance. The finish is a non-toxic lacquer that provides a secure grip and some protection against moisture.
Sound and Feel
The thicker taper makes the stick feel sturdier than a standard 5A, while the 412 mm (16.22") length adds extra reach. The nylon tip brings out cymbal sound with a clearer, brighter attack compared to a wood tip.
