Remo Sub Muff'l Bass 18"

Product Description

The Remo Sub Muff'l Bass is an external damping system for 18" bass drums that delivers controlled, full low end without sacrificing attack. Its floating design fits any drumhead without built-in muffling, so there's no need to glue muffling material directly to the head.

• External, floating design. Fits heads without built-in muffling
• Outer plastic profile with durable foam damping inserts
• Head stays in full contact with the bearing edge (hoop area)
• Enhanced low-end and increased attack
• Frequency response isn't affected the way it often is with glued-on muffling rings
• Suited for both live and studio use

Construction and Function

Unlike muffling rings glued directly to the head, the Sub Muff'l Bass is built as a separate system with an outer plastic profile and foam damping inserts. This keeps the head in full contact with the hoop, preserving output level while adding reinforced low end and a sharper attack. Because the damping isn't adhered to the head itself, frequency response isn't affected the way it often is with glued-on muffling profiles.

Who It's For

A solid choice if you want to tame bass drum resonance without losing punch and attack. Especially useful in both studio and live settings where a controlled, full-sounding bass drum matters.
