Product Description
The Remo Emperor Suede 8" is a two-ply drumhead with a matte suede coating, built to give you an open, warm tone with a bit more warmth and control than a standard clear head. It works well as a batter head when you want to tame the brightest overtones without losing attack.
The head is made from two free-floating plies of 7.5-mil Mylar film. Rather than being bonded together across the whole surface, the two plies float freely against each other, which gives the Emperor series its signature blend of control and open tone. The Suede® coating adds extra warmth and softens the attack compared to a coated or clear head, while the two-ply build makes it more durable than a single-ply head.
Tone and Feel
The combination of the two-ply construction and the suede coating delivers consistent, open, warm tones with good sustain control. A solid choice if you want to smooth out harsh overtones and get a rounder, more musical attack without the head sounding dead.
