16" Remo Emperor - Smooth White
2-ply bass drum head with warm, open mid-range tone. A favorite among studio and rock drummers.
Product Description
The Remo Emperor Smooth White is a 16" two-ply bass drum head that delivers a warmer tone than Clear Emperor, with bigger mid-range presence. It has quickly become one of Remo's most popular WeatherKing heads, ideal if you want a consistent, open, warm sound.
The construction is built from two free-floating plies of 7.5-mil Mylar film. The two plies float freely against each other rather than being laminated together, giving the open, warm tone that has made Smooth White Emperor a favorite among many of today's studio and rock drummers.
Tone and use
Compared to Clear Emperor, the Smooth White version sounds warmer with a fuller mid-range. That makes it a solid choice if you want to dial back the brightest edge of the tone in favor of a rounder, more consistent bass drum sound, popular in both studio settings and on the rock stage.
