The Regal Tip E-Series 5B with nylon tip and wide neck combines the durability of a nylon tip with a sound that recalls a wood tip when playing cymbals. Made from hickory, these sticks feature Regal Tip's patented E-tip – a finely ridged nylon tip designed to last longer than a standard nylon tip while giving a warmer, more wood-like tone on cymbals.
The wide neck shifts the balance point slightly compared to a standard 5B, which many players find gives extra stability for heavier backbeats and accents. The lacquered finish is there to give a secure grip through long playing sessions, without feeling sticky or slick when hands get sweaty.
