Sessions were held in three iconic spaces at Real World Studios in Bath – the grand Big Room, the richly resonant Wood Room, and the intimate Wood Booth. Under the guidance of the multi-award-winning producer/engineer Kevin Killen, every facet was captured—from expansive natural ambience to tight, detail-rich hits.

Analog magic via Studer A820
Every performance was recorded simultaneously in digital and via a classic Studer A820 tape machine. This hybrid setup delivers warm, saturated tone with modern clarity, giving each drum a timeless quality.

A comprehensive sound library
The library includes eight full drum kits, plus additional snares, kicks, cymbals, and toms. Carefully positioned microphones—including surround and staircase ambience—offer unmatched mixing flexibility.

Creative tools for producers
Real to Reel comes complete with 440 MIDI grooves and fills inspired by Kevin Killen’s productions, along with 44 mix-ready presets for every kit and room setup. Ideal for both quick results and deep sound exploration.

For both acoustic and e-drummers
With advanced articulations—such as right/left-hand sampling for snare, hi-hat, and toms—and dedicated e-drum presets, this SDX delivers expressive realism across all playing styles.
