Product Description
The Pearl Protone Coated 20" is a single-ply bass drum head with a built-in self-muffling perimeter EQ system, giving you a heap of low end that's nicely controlled without any need for further muffling. It's the standard head on Pearl's Export and Export Select drum kits, and it works just as well in the studio as it does live.
This type of head is great for both recording and live performing, since your bass drum becomes easier to mix thanks to its clearer, controlled sound. There's usually no need to add extra dampening like felt strips or rings to tame excess boom.
The coated surface adds a touch of warmth to the attack compared to a clear head.
