Vic Firth SPE Peter Erskine
Product Description
Peter Erskine is a genuine jazz icon – a drummer with Weather Report and Steps Ahead, and a prolific author of instructional books and videos. Few drummers ever get a signature model with Vic Firth. Even fewer get two. Erskine has three, and the SPE is the first in the line.
The stick has a small, round wood tip built for pinpoint, ticking hi-hat and ride work – ideal when you want control and dynamics rather than sheer volume. The short taper keeps the stick light and fast to move around the kit, which shows clearly in refined jazz comping and articulate cymbal playing.
The stick is made from hickory with a lacquer finish. Diameter is 13,3 mm (0.524") and length 406,4 mm (16"). Sold per pair.
Vic Firth, born Everett Firth, began making sticks in 1963 and has since become one of the most respected stick makers for percussionists worldwide – from hickory sticks for drum set to maple models, marching sticks, brushes, rods and mallets for nearly every instrument imaginable.
