The Pearl Session Studio Select is a 14"x8" snare drum with a thin, 6-ply birch and African mahogany shell that delivers a clear, warm tone with controlled punch. Finished in Gloss Barnwood Brown, it's a great fit for studio and stage alike.

For over a quarter century, Pearl's Session Series drums have yielded some of the most harmonically vibrant recorded drum tones ever captured in the studio environment. The Session Studio Select shell now returns with a custom upgrade from the boutique-level Masterworks spectrum, shifting to the classic shell blend that made the series an artist favorite. The shell is a thin, 5.4mm EvenPly-Six combination of Masters-grade birch and African mahogany.

The controlled punch of Pearl's fresh 60-degree bearing edge delivers a blend of pre-EQ'd clarity and tonal warmth. The drum features 2.3mm triple-flanged SuperHoop II hoops and Pearl's OptiMount Suspension System, which keeps the shell free-floating for maximum resonance.

The strainer is an SR017, paired with an S022N snare wire. The drum ships fitted with Remo drum heads.
