Pearl Session Studio Select 14"x5.5" - Nicotine White Marine Pearl

Product Description

The Session Studio Select is Pearl's studio-focused snare, built on the shell blend that made the Session Series a favorite among engineers for over 25 years. This 14x5.5" model in Nicotine White Marine Pearl pairs a thin birch and African mahogany shell with pre-EQ'd clarity and controlled punch.

• Thin 6-ply, 5.4mm EvenPly-Six shell in Masters-grade Birch and African Mahogany
• Outer 60-Degree Bearing Edge for pre-EQ'd clarity and tonal warmth
• 2.3mm Triple-Flanged SuperHoop II Hoops
• OptiMount Suspension System
• SR017 Strainer
• S022N Snare Wire
• Remo Drum Heads

Tone and Construction

The Birch and African Mahogany blend in the EvenPly-Six construction is the same combination that gave earlier Session drums their harmonically rich, recorded sound. The outer 60-degree bearing edge delivers a balanced, pre-EQ'd clarity right off the stick, combined with tonal warmth and controlled punch that needs little work in the mix.

Hardware

The 2.3mm Triple-Flanged SuperHoop II hoops add tuning stability, while the OptiMount Suspension System keeps the shell free-floating by mounting to the hoop rather than the shell itself. The SR017 strainer and S022N snare wire are matched to the shell's tone, and the drum ships with Remo heads on both batter and resonant sides.
