Product Description

The Pearl Session Studio Select is a 4-piece shell pack finished in #847 Scarlet Ash, built for drummers who want the classic, harmonically rich tone that has made the Session series a studio favorite for over 25 years. Upgraded from the boutique-level Masterworks range, these shells blend birch and African mahogany for a tone that's both warm and clear.

• OptiMount Suspension System
• RL Lugs

Tone and Construction

The thin, 5.4mm shell is built from six plies of Masters-grade birch and African mahogany using Pearl's EvenPly-Six construction. The blend delivers pre-EQ'd clarity along with tonal warmth, while the fresh outer 60-degree bearing edge adds a controlled, punchy attack. The 2.3mm triple-flanged SuperHoop II hoops help the drums hold their tuning and respond clearly to every stroke. The OptiMount Suspension System lets the mounted tom resonate freely, isolated from the shell-dampening effect of a traditional mount.

Who It's For

A strong choice for drummers who want studio-grade tone with a bit more character than a fully neutral shell, without stepping all the way up to Pearl's flagship series.
