The Modern Utility 14x10" is a maple floor snare drum from Pearl, finished in #220 Satin Brown. Built for the informed, working player who doesn't need a flashy name, it's flexible enough to slot into any setup and strong enough for constant play, whether used as a side snare for deep, pillowy tones or as an extra floor tom with the snares disengaged.

Construction

The shell is built from six even plies of maple (SST construction) at 5.4mm thickness, giving a solid foundation for use as either a snare or a floor tom. Single CL Bridge Lugs and 1.6mm triple-flanged hoops help the drum stand up to regular gigging and rehearsal use.

Strainer

The smooth SR700 Strainer makes it easy to engage and disengage the snare wires, which is what makes this drum so versatile: engaged, you get deep, pillowy snare tones, and disengaged, it works as an additional floor tom in your setup.
