The Pearl Concert Series CRS is a steel concert snare drum, 14x6.5", with a chrome-finished, beaded steel shell. It delivers a brighter, clearer tone than the ply-maple version in the same series, without giving up any of the professional-grade features that have made the CRP series a staple in schools and ensembles.

Since 2003, the CRP Concert Series ply-maple drums have been the economical choice for schools wanting professional-level features and tone at a fraction of the cost. The CRS steel series builds on that same design and adds a brighter tonal option. Steel is one of the brightest and clearest-sounding materials for snare drums, making it a strong choice for ensembles and aspiring percussionists.

Strainer and Snare Response

The drum carries all the professional-grade features of the CRP drums, plus an upgraded SR-100 Silent Strainer. The snare wires are angle mounted, combining coated and stainless steel cable to emulate the graduated tension response of the Philharmonic Series. At the core of the design is a mix of cable snares specifically built to perform in the softest musical passages all the way through a high-volume crescendo. 7 strands each of coated snare cable and stainless steel snare cable are uniquely angle mounted together on a single block to fit the new SR-100 Silent Snare Strainer, emulating graduated tension and maintaining a constant, full-bodied orchestral snare sonority.

Construction and Finish

The shell is a beaded steel shell with a highly polished chrome finish. Lugs are classic-styled tube lugs, hoops are Pearl's acclaimed 2.3mm SuperHoop II, and the drum ships with Remo Renaissance heads.
